#ScorpioReviews The Black Phone

This movie ever since the first trailer looked interesting. Now available in the streaming service, Peacock. Talks about some cases of missing children but with a supernatural twist. A kidnapper known as the Grabber takes children and murders them. It is different that most of these kind of movies. You leave with a semi satisfying feeling after it's done. There is still the tragedy of the first children who were kidnapped and killed. But when the last kid, Finn, is taken he manages to to kill The Grabber and return safely home with his family. Finn was able to escape thanks to the voices of the dead children. Through a broken phone Finn received instructions on what to do to escape. Each kid gave him a tip on how to prepared for the final confrontation with The Grabber. It was a really good movie set in the year 1978. We see the lives of several children and their lifestyle on school. Then each is kidnapped by a man in a black van know as The Grabber. What makes this movie different is that Finn is able to listen to the previous dead children through a broken black phone. Also, his sister is able to receive premonition on her dreams. But she isn't able to control them so she ask God for help. The rest seems like other movies. A crazy man kidnapping kids, held them in a basement, playing and torture them until he finally kills them.
Overall it is a great movie. You can feel the tension and suspense every moment Finn is being held captive. Definitely, recommend it to watch. I will rate it an 8.5. The movie got  right to the point but also explained each moment adequately. We got the necessary information to know what is going on, plus we got extra details and scenes to add up to the characters development. We got to know well the main characters and they are described in a real and believable way. A real story was well told plus the supernatural addition adds to the interest of the movie. A great well made movie with a great plot, cast and script.

Rating: 8.5
