#ScorpioReviews - Shazam! Fury of the Gods

Shazam! Fury of the Gods was a disappointing movie that lacks excitement and originality. The plot is predictable and simple, with Shazam and his family facing a new threat from ancient gods and monsters. They had so many people with powers but ultimately just needed Shazam and they could had avoid so much if that happened sooner. The CGI was decent and the dragon design is impressive, but the action scenes are boring and repetitive. The comedy is one of the few redeeming qualities of the movie, as most of the jokes and funny moments landed well. The movie also has a lot of references to other franchises, including the rival Marvel Cinematic Universe, which is surprising and amusing. The fighting scenes were also dull because it was basically just pushing people around and moving fast. The ending was good but convenient to the point of why it happened and why it didn't happened before. The ending is somewhat satisfying, but it does not make up for the rest of the movie.

Overall, Shazam! Fury of the Gods is a disappointing sequel that fails to deliver on its potential. It was a very simple movie starting from the plot, characters, motivation and development of the story and even its conflicts. Everything felt so simple and predictable without many moments that cause an impact. It is only recommended for DC fans or maybe even just Shazam fans who want to see how the story ends. Otherwise, it is not worth watching. I give this movie a 6.0 out of 10, because it seems that they tried their best with what they had. Even do it feels like a movie lower than 6.0 it had some moments that save the movie because it wasn't a poorly made movie but it felt it had so much potential. Almost felt as if they finished it as compromised but they probably had something else in mind.

Rating: 6.0
